We support many projects and activities throughout our communities during the holidays to help those less fortunate. Just some of our deeds include:
Annual Santa Visit with Holland & Hart Families
- The 2023 annual Foundation Santa visit, brought many smiles, joy, and holiday magic to children, families, and young-at-heart adults in the Denver office and virtually this holiday season. Over 30 children were able to experience this special tradition, sharing personal conversations and recounting the highlights of the past year with Santa.
- For many years, the Denver office has been fortunate to have former partner and Foundation Co-Founder Sam Guyton and Co-Founder Jean Guyton as “Samta” and Mrs. Claus. In recent years, the annual “Samta” visit expanded virtually to reach children of all ages across the firm. In 2022, Sam and Jean passed the annual holiday magic to Denver partner and Foundation member Sean Hanlon, now known to the visiting families for the event as “Seanta.”
- In 2021, the Holland & Hart Foundation’s annual “Samta” visit with co-founders Sam and Jean Guyton, was held virtually again as a firmwide Holiday event! Samta met with 16 families, which included endearing conversations with 30 children of all ages. The children shared what they did in 2021 and the gifts they looked forward to receiving.
-
With the safety restrictions required by the pandemic, in 2020 the Holland & Hart Foundation’s annual “Samta” visit with children went virtual! We expanded the in-person Denver event to a firmwide event. Samta met virtually with 25 families, which included 41 children ages one to 18. Each family had an endearing discussion with Samta about what they did in 2020 and the gifts they looked forward to receiving for Christmas.
Denver’s Craft Fairs and Bake sales to benefit The Lennox House senior residence
- Holiday Gifts for Lennox Guest Home: The Holland & Hart Foundation Denver office proudly supports the Lennox Guest Home residents with its annual holiday gift giving project. Volunteers purchase a pack of socks, soaps, candy, and include a small amount of cash and a gift card for each of the residents. Additionally, each employee of the Lennox Guest Home receives individually wrapped goodies and sweets from staff gift baskets. Volunteers coordinate gift purchases, wrapping, and deliver all items to the Lennox Guest Home around Christmas.
- Lennox Guest Home Holiday Pie Party: The Lennox Guest Home is a personal care home providing assistance and supervision with medications to 57 elderly and/or disabled residents. Holland & Hart has worked with the Lennox Guest Home, hosting various events for the benefit of the residents, for over 30 years. Just before Thanksgiving, members of the Denver office donated pies, whipped cream, or money towards the purchase of pies that were delivered and served to the residents during their annual Holiday Pie Party.
Helping families in need through Adopt-a-Family and Adopt-a-Student programs in many offices, including Aspen, Boulder, Cheyenne, Jackson, and Washington, D.C.
- Offices hold numerous fundraisers including potlucks and a bake sales, and provide cash and gift donations so that our holiday elves can shop for gifts for each Adopt-a-Family or Adopt-a-Student individual based on wish lists and items they need. The gifts range from clothing/shoes to bunk beds and dressers.
Giving Tree Programs Across our Communities
- Every year, various offices partner with local Giving Tree programs in their communities and sponsor dozens of children and families to provide requested gifts through Giving Tree Gift programs. The programs are designed to help collect gifts for children, families, and senior citizens who for a variety of reasons do not have the means to celebrate the holidays.
Children of Mine Center holiday party sponsored by Washington, D.C. office
- For many years, the Holland & Hart Washington, D.C. office members have sponsored or co-sponsored the annual Children of Mine Center holiday party by hosting an activity or event for the Center’s children like bowling, crafts, games, and food, as well as providing holiday gifts for the children. The Children of Mine Youth Center works to promote the safety, health, education, and stability of the children in the Anacostia community, which is in Southeast Washington, D.C.
