Volunteering at Community Food Share Food Bank: In January, our Foundation’s Boulder office members volunteered at the local food bank, Community Food Share. Volunteers sorted goods, restocked shelves, repackaged foods, and helped with various cleaning duties. Community Food Share helps fight hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties by providing access to fresh, nutritious food through its programs and local partners.
2023
Community Food Share Warehouse and Fund and Food Drive: To celebrate the Holland & Hart Foundation’s 25th anniversary, Boulder Foundation members volunteered at the warehouse sorting and packing food for distribution and hosted a fund and food drive. The office donated 40 pounds of food and raised over $2,370 to help provide meals for neighbors in need and support the goal of eliminating hunger in the community.
Annual School Supply Drive with Crayons-To-Calculators: The Foundation’s Boulder office supported Crayons-To-Calculators again this year for the annual School Supply Drive. Crayons to Calculators is a local school supply distribution program that ensures 8,000 local students in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts start the school year with everything they need, including backpacks, school supplies, and headphones. The Boulder office raised a total of $2210 that will help ensure every student has access to school supplies across all grade-levels.
Volunteering at Boulder Garden Tour Benefiting Garden To Table: Boulder office members were proud to support the 19tth Annual Boulder Garden Tour benefitting Garden To Table, Boulder County’s school garden support organization. Volunteers were stationed at ticket and informational booths during the self-guided walking tours of gardens in the historic University Hill and Mapleton neighborhoods of Boulder. The Growe Foundation/Garden To Table program helps children connect with nature, grow food, and learn science. The curriculum and garden services supports 200+ teachers at 17 schools in Boulder County, impacting more than 5,000 students. The Boulder office has worked with the Growe Foundation/Garden To Table for over 15 years, supporting their mission to provide education on healthy and sustainable food through gardens and support at schools.
2022
Flatirons Habitat for Humanity Build: In honor of celebrating the firm’s 75th anniversary and longstanding value of serving its communities, the Boulder office supported Flatirons Habitat for Humanity by prepping for floor installations on three single- and two-story units under construction.
Annual School Supply Drive with Crayons-To-Calculators: The Boulder office supported Crayons-To-Calculators (C2C) again this year for the annual School Supply Drive, a partner we have proudly supported for over a decade. C2C is a multi-district school supply distribution program that ensures more than 8,000 students in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts start the school year with the supplies they need for a successful and strong academic year. The Boulder office almost doubled its original goal and raised a total of $4000! According to the C2C website, our donation will help fill approximately 200 elementary backpacks or 160 middle/high school backpacks.
Boulder Annual Garden Tour Benefiting Growe Foundation/Garden To Table: The Holland & Hart Foundation Boulder office was proud to support the 18th Annual Boulder Garden Tour by volunteering to help with check-in and other logistics for the garden tour. The self-guided tour allows guests to visit unique, private gardens and homesteads, and enjoy garden-themed edutainment at each stop on historic University Hill. All proceeds benefit the Growe Foundation/Garden To Table, Boulder County’s school garden learning organization that supports 16 schools in Boulder Valley School District, impacting 300 teachers and more than 5,000 students. The Boulder office has worked with the Growe Foundation/Garden To Table for over 15 years, supporting their mission to provide education on healthy and sustainable food through gardens and support at schools.
Support for Families Impacted by Marshall Fire: The Marshall Fire was a destructive wildfire that started on December 30, 2021 in Boulder County. More than 1,000 structures were lost and many others were damaged. The Foundation’s Boulder office committee coordinated a multi-office collection and delivery effort to provide clothing and household items to the families impacted by the fire.

“I Have A Dream” Foundation Virtual Holiday Drive: The Holland & Hart Foundation Boulder office members participated in a virtual holiday drive this year for the “I Have a Dream” Foundation of Boulder County. The volunteers provided gift card donations that went to “I Have A Dream” Foundation families. Despite the challenges of COVID-19, “I Have a Dream” Foundation shares that dreams continue to be set and pursued.
Crayons-To-Calculators School Supply Drive: For the annual Holland & Hart Foundation School Supply drive, Boulder office volunteers supported the Crayons-To-Calculators program. Crayons to Calculators is a multi-district school supply distribution that ensures 11,000 students in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts start the school year with the supplies they need for a successful and strong academic year. The program is managed through a collaborative partnership between Impact on Education and the St. Vrain Valley Schools Education Foundation. This year’s Boulder office contributions will go towards providing over 50 early elementary school backpacks filled with school supplies.
Garden to Table Spring Event: The Holland & Hart Foundation Boulder office was excited to continue its long-time partnership with Growe Foundation, dba Garden to Table. Volunteers helped by washing lettuce hoop coverings, organizing equipment, and weeding garden beds for elementary schools in the Boulder Valley School District. Garden to Table provides gardens, curriculum, and support to schools in Boulder County, addressing science concepts while engaging students in gardening tasks.
Food Drive with Community Food Share: In 2021, the Foundation’s Boulder office was proud to support the Community Food Share, a food bank fighting hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties, by organizing a virtual food drive. Volunteers collected $4050 to go towards purchasing groceries for the Community Food Share programs. Every dollar donated helps provide three meals because of Community Food Share’s collaboration with a strong network of community partners.
Winter Drive with Boulder Valley Mutual Aid: The Holland & Hart Foundation Boulder office supported Boulder Valley Mutual Aid for the 2021 firmwide Winter Drive initiative. Volunteers purchased and donated a variety of items, including a sleeping bag, first aid items, gloves, tarps, and a monetary donation to help house people in hotels during sub-zero weather.

Crayons-To-Calculators and A Precious Child Supply Drive: For the annual Holland & Hart Foundation School Supply drive, the Boulder office volunteers contributed school supplies, as well as clothing and household items, throughout the year to Crayons-To-Calculators and A Precious Child. Crayons-To-Calculators collects and distributes school supplies to ensure that Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley students have the tools they need to succeed during the school year. A Precious Child assists children and families facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations and poverty.
Community Food Share Drive: We are proud to support the Community Food Share, a food bank fighting hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties by providing access to fresh, nutritious food through local partners and its onsite and mobile pantries. For every $1 donated, Community Food Share can provide three meals. The Holland & Hart Foundation Boulder office organized a virtual food drive and collected food and cash donations totaling over $3500, which equates to over 10,000 meals for individuals and families in Boulder and Broomfield counties.

Holiday Gifts Project for I Have A Dream Foundation: The Holland & Hart Foundation Boulder office members participated in a holiday shopping drive again this year. The volunteers provided holiday gifts for dreamers and their family members as part of the Boulder County I Have A Dream Foundation.
Crayons-To-Calculators School Supply Drive: For the annual Holland & Hart Foundation School Supply drive, the Boulder office volunteers provided backpacks and supplies for needy elementary school children in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts.

Growe Foundation Volunteer Day: The Boulder office Holland & Hart Foundation volunteers helped Growe Foundation clean, organize, and prepared equipment for elementary school gardens in preparation for the upcoming school year. Growe Foundation teaches young children about healthy eating and caring for the environment through grade-specific lessons and hands-on learning with experiential gardens.

Adopt-A-Family Holiday Drive with I Have A Dream Foundation of Boulder County: The Holland & Hart Foundation Boulder office members participated in a holiday shopping drive where volunteers provided gift cards for holiday shopping to a number of families of dreamers that participate in I Have A Dream activities.
Boulder Office Firm-Wide Food Drive with Community Food Share: The Boulder Committee of the Holland & Hart Foundation collected food and clothing items during the annual Foundation firm-wide Community Food Drive! The Boulder office collected $2,902 in cash donations, 160 new pairs of socks, 5 shirts, and a total of 42 lbs of food.
Crayons-To-Calculators School Supply Drive: For the annual Holland & Hart Foundation School Supply drive, the Boulder office collected school supplies for needy families in Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley School Districts. The Foundation donated over $4000 worth of school supplies.
2017
Boulder County I Have a Dream Foundation Adopt-a-Family: The Boulder office supported families through the Boulder County I Have a Dream Foundation. Dreamers and their family members make a “wish list” of holiday items. 30 members of the members purchased and wrapped wish list items, and delivered them to the Foundation.
Volunteers helped Growe Foundation assemble garden kits at a local elementary school. Growe Foundation teaches young children about healthy eating and caring for the environment through grade-specific lessons and hands-on learning with experiential gardens. A veritable army of volunteers helped to clear out last year’s gardens and assemble garden-to-table educational kits in preparation for the upcoming school year at Crestview Elementary.
2016
Crayons to Calculators: The Boulder office held its annual Crayons to Calculators school supply drive in late July. Many members of the office donated supplies or money and dedicate team of more than 20 attorneys and staff assembled and packed 221 backpacks that were delivered to elementary school children in need in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts.
Habitat for Humanity: In a unique partnership between Flatirons Habitat for Humanity and a private developer, Flatirons Habitat or Humanities is developing Wonderland Creek, a project of four, single-family homes that will provide four families with safe, decent, affordable housing.
Members of the Boulder office raised funds from snack bar sales that were used to sponsor a $2,500 “Peak Season Build Day.” In late May, a small but productive group helped to install insulation and roofing on a new home for a family left homeless after the Jamestown floods that included ADA-compliant ramps for a veteran coping with neuropathy in his feet and legs. In June, nine volunteers toiled in the hot sun on another new home for a family of four, who will be ecstatic to have more space than their current CU-Boulder two-bedroom apartment.
2015
Crayons to Calculators: The Boulder office held its annual Crayons to Calculators school supply drive in July. Through the efforts of approximately forty volunteers, 229 backpacks were supplied for second graders in need in the Boulder Valley and St. Vrain Valley school districts.
2014
I Have a Dream Foundation Adopt-A-Center:The office adopted four needy families for the annual holiday project purchasing gifts for each family member. Our group of families had one or more young children. The gifts were distributed in mid-December to the I Have a Dream Foundation which made the deliveries to each family.
